Infiltration bid foiled near LoC, 1 militant killed
Srinagar:One militant was killed today as army foiled an infiltration bid near the Line of Control in Naugam sector of Kashmir, in third such incident within a week.
“An infiltration bid was foiled in Naugam sector this morning. One militant has been killed in the operation which was going on till reports last came in,” an army official said.
This is the third infiltration bid foiled in the Naugam sector in the past six days.
Four militants were killed and one was apprehended in an anti-infiltration operation on July 26, followed by another operation on July 30, in which two militants and two soldiers were killed.
Pakistani intruder held by BSF
Bikaner(Raj): A suspected Pakistani intruder has been caught by Border Security Force from near Indo-Pak border in the district.
The accused aged around 45 years, who appears deaf and dumb, was caught yesterday with Pakistan currency of rupee 794, two packet cigarette and matches.
A BSF spokesperson today said that that force has also contacted Pakistani rangers to inform about the intruder.
Pakistani intruder shot dead by BSF
Ferozepur: An unidentified Pakistani intruder was shot dead by BSF troopers near Border Out Post Kassoke, officials said today.
The incident happened yesterday evening when BSF jawans, belonging to 105 Battalion, observed some suspicious movement alongside the international border security fence and asked the intruder to stop.
“But he did not pay any heed. Thereafter, the BSF troopers fired in the air but he continued to venture into Indian territory. Later, he was shot by the jawans,” BSF officials said.
Nothing objectionable was found from his possession, they said.
