I am privileged to be here at the 8th Vibrant Gujarat – Global Investor Summit 2017.
I am fortunate to be present at every single Vibrant Gujarat Summit since its inception in 2003.
Vibrant Gujarat was the first summit of its kind.
It was organised on a large scale to position a state as a leading global investment destination.
The concept of Vibrant Gujarat serves as an inspiration, and is being emulated by states across India.

Most respected Pradhan Mantriji,
History will record you as a great transformative leader.
You first transformed Gujarat.
You are now transforming India with a series of historic and visionary initiatives.
No leader in the world has changed the mindset and behavior of so many people in such a short time.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Make in India, Digital India and Skill India are initiatives that have galvanized all Indians.
These initiatives have won respect for India in the world.
This has resulted in India receiving its highest ever FDI in its history.
Digital India and your other initiatives will make India one of the strongest and most prosperous nations in the world.
On behalf of industry, I take this opportunity to reaffirm our fullest support to realizing your vision and aspiration for India and Indians.

I would like to congratulate the Honourable Chief Minister, Shri Vijay Rupani, for carrying forward the legacy of Vibrant Gujarat being better and bigger each time.
Gujarat is blessed to have a talented and committed team of administrators.
Gujarat is the most innovative, dynamic and future-oriented state in India.
Let me warmly congratulate everyone for Gujarat being ranked as the number one State in ease of doing business in 2015.
Gujarat also attracts the highest FDI among all Indian states.
Gujarat exemplifies excellence, and Vibrant Gujarat is a true showcase of its potential and achievements.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are proud that Reliance is a Gujarati company.
I am privileged to have my roots in Gujarat.
For me this is a sacred land.
Reliance’s journey of excellence started from Gujarat.
Our global scale investments are an expression of our commitment and faith in the Gujarat story.
Our cumulative investment in the state is over Rs 2,37,000 crore.
It is the biggest investment made by an Indian corporate in a single state.
In the past four years, we have invested more than Rs 1,25,000 crores in Gujarat in refining, petrochemicals, retail and Jio.
I am happy to report that we have invested Rs. 10,000 crore than what we had committed.
Currently, we are engaged in the single largest expansion in the petrochemicals sector in the world.
More than one lakh people are working on this project.
As part of expansion in the world’s largest refining complex at Jamnagar, we are making a large investment to make it even more competitive globally.
It is one of the largest clean energy initiatives in the world – taking shape right here, in our very own Gujarat.
A project of this scale and dimension has never been executed before anywhere in the world.
We are close to completing this mammoth project.
All of these investments provide sustained employment to over 2,00,000 people, both direct and indirect.
Our partnership with Gujarat’s small and medium sector entrepreneurs spans the sectors of textiles, plastics, retail and now Jio.

Dear Friends,
We have consistently shown our commitment and faith in Gujarat by developing large businesses here.
In return, we have earned the faith and received immense love from the people of Gujarat.
In 2014-15, only 35% of Gujarat’s population had access to 3G network.
But today, more than 90% of the state’s population is covered by Jio’s 4G LTE network.
I am proud to say that Gujarat is the first state in India to cross the 50 lakh Jio subscriber mark in less than 90 days.
It proves that innovation in India always takes off from this great state.
Jio and Gujarat are in the process of creating history by connecting all the 25,000 schools, colleges and hospitals in the state with high-speed internet within this year.
Jio has the unprecedented power to transform and revolutionise education, healthcare, agriculture, trade and a wide range of enterprises.
Jio will give the power of data to 1.2 billion Indians – each and every one of us – to fulfil every dream and to propel India to Global Digital Leadership. Dear Friends,
I am grateful to the Prime Minister and the Government of Gujarat for giving me an opportunity to lead Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU).
Reliance Foundation has committed Rs 150 crore to make PDPU one of the top institutes in India.
PDPU has been awarded an “A” grade accreditation by NAAC recently, and has been ranked as the number one private University in Gujarat.

Reliance’s engagement in Gujarat is a partnership to celebrate the spirit of this great state.
The spirit to think big…

The spirit to lead India to a position of global eminence…
The spirit to trigger a billion Indian dreams…
The spirit to make what others thought impossible possible…
I salute that spirit.
That is the spirit of Vibrant Gujarat – of Vibrant India under the leadership of our respected Prime Minister.
