CID-crime raid factory in Mahesana, seizes illegally made cream, equipment worth Rs 50 lakhs

Gandhinagar: The CID-crime of Gandhinagar today raided a medicine manufacturing factory in neighbouring Mahesana district and seized illegally made cream and equipment used to prepare it worth over Rs 50 lakh.
PI CID-crime D M Mishra, who led the team that raided the factory in Mandali village off Gandhinagar-Mahesana highway, said that the cream was made violating the copyright act.
‘The factory used to manufacture medicines for different companies on order. But we received a complaint from a company that a cream brand registered in its name was being illegally manufactured by the company. We raided the factory today and seized the cream and some equipment used to manufacture it,’ he said.
The estimated price of the seized medicine might cross Rs 50 lakhs, the PI said adding that the owner of the factory has been detained.
The matter was being investigated.
