Rupani announces medical college in tribal belt, opens new colleges at Mota Pondha

Valsad: Gujarat government is planning for 10 new medical colleges in the state in next two years, said Chief Minister Rupani today at tribal populated Motapondha in Kaprada taluka of Valsad district in South Gujarat, adding that tribal belt will get a new medical college under this plan. Rupani said the government will offer land for free and also provide grant to start a new medical college in tribal area.

The Chief Minister was speaking on the occasion of inauguration of Shri Mumbadevi Arts and Smt Suganibai R Chamaria Commerce college which are built at a cost of Rs 2 crore. The Chief Minister in response to a proposal for new science college at Nanapondha said the government will positively go through it and take appropriate decision in this regard. The Chief Minister launched Rs 17.50 crore development projects and dedicated Rs 22.89 crore development works. He spoke about upcoming Birsa Mundra University, national level museum, tribal sainik school, PESA act and other initiatives by the government for tribal belt.
