Shankersinh’s supporters pass resolution, appeal him to remain active in politics

Gandhinagar: Former Chief Minister Shankersinh Vaghela today called a meeting of his supporters from across the State. Though media was allowed to cover the gathering freely, the access to Vaghela’s speech was restricted.

According to a resolution passed in the gathering which is communicated to media through Shankersinh’s office,

– People in Gujarat are feeling confused and suffocated under the governments formed by various political parties in all these years.

– People are unhappy due to several issues they are facing such as unemployment, price rise, burden of electricity bills, fees in school and higher education institutes, costly medicines, medical treatment etc.

– Businesses are down, traders are sad with GST. Couldn’t the government delay the implementation of GST for one year? Can’t the government reduce the prices of petrol, diesel and gas? Can’t the women of Gujarat be availed their own house by the government? Is there no solution to these problems? Isn’t there any alternative option? So what if Bapu(Shankersinh) has decided to stay away from party-based politics, the citizens present in this gathering request Bapu that he should come to the (electoral battle) field to hold the hand of people who are in such difficult situation. To save the sad people, you can take support of voluntary organizations, intellectuals, all those who can’t be pressurized. You need to be active and become the support of those who need support to set free from the problems and sorrows they are facing.

Analysts believe:

Political analysts believe that Shankersinh Bapu may field independents of his choice in several constituencies in upcoming assembly elections. Such independents will contest strategically in key constituencies, overtly on anti-govt plank. They however covertly will be in capacity to divide the anti-government chunk of votes and benefit the ruling BJP.

None of the former MLAs of Shankersinh camp was present in today’s gathering. Shankersinh’s son was also absent in today’s gathering. This obviously for reason that they are going to join the BJP, while today’s gathering had an agenda that also covered anti-(BJP)govt sentiments.
