September 21, 2017
Junagadh: An around 30 ft long whale, found on the sea-shore in a coastal area in Gir Somnath district of Gujarat today, was rescued and again left in the deep sea.
A forest official said that the locals and fishermen of Nava Bandar in Una taluka of the district saw the giant fish which was fortunately alive. It was pushed ashore by strong currents. Owing to coming out of water and falling on the sand it was unable to move at its own and go back to the waters.
On getting the information, a team of forest department and local fishermen somehow put it back in the deep sea again. Two fishing boats were also used for this rescue operation.
