7,365 tonne waste removed from Kharicut canal; 104 CCTV cameras to be installed for vigil

Ahmedabad: In a special cleaning drive being carried out by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) 7,365 tonne waste has been removed from Kharicut canal which passes through the areas of East Ahmedabad. The AMC plans to install 104 CCTV cameras at 53 locations of Kharicut canal in order to nab those treating canal as garbage removal place.
Minister of State for Home and Ahmedabad MLA Pradipsinh Jadeja shared these details while visiting the canal to supervise and guide the ongoing cleaning works. He said the waste is being dumped at Pirana site. So far 980 trips have been carried out to dump the waste collected from canal.
Jadeja said 62 JCB machines are working at 15 spots at present to clean the canal. Jadeja visited Naroda crematorium to Thakkarbapanagar, Viratnagar, Arbudanagar Vatva etc areas with senior officials of AMC.
