Ahmedabad:

A house in Odhav area of the city today caught fire after its owner committed self immolation in it.

PI R G Jadeja said that one Arjun Thakor (45) burnt himself after pouring Kerosene over him inside his house in Mahalaxmi apartment in the noon. The house also caught fire.

By the time the fire brigade reached the spot and doused the fire in the house, Arjunbhai was charred to death. He had committed self immolation owing to financial crisis and depression.

Various items inside the house were also reduced to ashes.

The deceased was unmarried and was jobless for past around 3 months. He used to live in the house with his mother.
