CM Rupani inaugurates first ‘Tinkering Lab’ in Valsad

Valsad: Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani today asserted that to fulfil Prime Minister Mr. Narendrabhai Modi’s dream of setting up tinkering labs in as many as 5,000 schools across the country by 2020. Gujarat as its share would develop it in 250 schools.

Atal Tinkering Labs are dedicated works space where students of class between 6th and 12th learn innovation skills and develop ideas that will go on to transform India. The labs are powered to familiarize students with state-of-the-art equipment such as 3d printers, robotics & electronics development tools, IoT & sensors and others. The lab activities are designed to spur the spark of creativity, and go beyond regular curriculum and text books learning. The labs will let students discover skills of future such as design and computational thinking, adaptive learning and artificial intelligence.

The Chief Minister was speaking at a function to inaugurate the first ‘Tinkering Lab’ jointly set up by Utadi Vibhag Kelavani Mandal of Valsad Taluka and Lok-Vidhyala run by Desai Foundation in collaboration with NITI Ayog. Mr. Rupani called on students to catch this initiative to explore knowledge and creativities in Tinkering Lab. The chief minister also inaugurated a sanitary napkin production center. He welcomed this initiative to provide employment to women in vicinity.
The occasion was graced by Collector Mr. C. R. Kharsana, DDO Mr. D. P. Desai, and others.
