Israeli Drone Guard for Ahmedabad Rath Yatra capable of tracking any suspicious drone/low flying object and crash-land it

The drone guard system of Israel to be used for the first time in the security of Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra (Chariot Procession) in Ahmedabad, the largest city of Gujarat – the home state of PM Narendra Modi, on July 14 is capable of detecting any drone or other low flying object with potential danger and stopping/force returning/crash landing it.

Minister of State for Home in Gujarat Pradipsinh Jadeja today informed this.

The 141st Rath Yatra to start from Jagannath temple and return from Saraspur, is also like other years will be attended by lakhs of people. The procession with 18 elephants and 101 tableau trucks would seem like a human sea. Over 25000 security personnel would be deployed for the security along over 20 km and fro route.

Jadeja said that hi-tech weapons, drones, bomb disposal squads, cctvs etc would also be used for the security of the rath-yatra.

‘For the first time the Israel developed drone guard technology system would also be used. It is capable of foiling any attempt to use a drone or other low flying object for attack. The system developed by Israel Aerospace Technology ltd with the help of radar connection can detect any drone or low flying object in the area of its application,’ the minister said.

‘It uses multiple sensor and shows the suspected object on the connected radar map. It also creates mobile alert. It also has adaptive jamming system in it which with can with its detection and identification sensor or independently operate. The Jamming system compels the suspected drone to return to its place of origin or crash land,’ he said.

Notably, the rath-yatra will start at 7 am on July 14, the Ashadi beej day according to Gujarati calendar, with the Pahind ritual (using golden broom to clean the route) by CM Vijay Rupani and DyCM Nitin Patel. It will return by late evening.
