Sterling Hospital Ahmedabad ‘charges a patient unfairly’; video goes viral
July 17, 2018
Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad: A video has gone viral in which city based ‘five-star’ hospital Sterling is alleged to have charged unfairly. One Rahul Patel who owns Visa consultancy service business in Ahmedabad has captured this video and put it on his Facebook page. Rahul questions Sterling hospital’s billing staff over 17% additional charge mentioned in the bill for his son’s treatment. Rahul argues that none other hospital collects this 17% charge and there’s no government provision for such charge. If at all there was such provision, all other hospitals too would charge in same way. But others are not collecting such charge, then why only Sterling? A woman on billing desk denied permission to capture video and called security, but Rahul continued to capture video and also interviewed another person present on bill desk who narrated same story of unfair billing. There are frequent complains regarding unfair billing and loot at corporate hospitals in Ahmedabad.
