Valsad:
An amateur snake-catcher has to pay heavy price of ‘show-off’ during catching of a poisonous cobra in Dharampur town of Valsad district in Gujarat.
35 year old Tushar Patel, who though is not a trained serpent catcher, used to catch snakes in and around Dharampur town.
Yesterday evening he was catching an around 4 ft long poisonous cobra in a scrap godown in Valod Faliya of the town. The whole incident was being video captured on a mobile camera by someone known to him. The clip of the incident has gone viral.
Tushar first controlled the cobra by pushing its head with a hook and rod like device and putting one of his feet on its tail side. He then caught its head with his hand and while trying to put it in a jar, it suddenly gave him a bite in his right thumb. Despite that he put the snake in the jar and closed the cap.
But when after some-time the poison came into play he was rushed to hospital. He is now in the ICU of a private hospital in Dharampur and is struggling for his life.
