Rupani chairs 1st meeting of State Level Committee for Celebration of 150th Birth-Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani today resolved that the nation-wide celebration of forthcoming 150th Birth-Anniversary of the Father of Nation, ‘Mahatma Gandhi’ to be started from October 2, 2018 will be celebrated in Gujarat to make the ‘Gandhian Values’ as everlasting.

In this reference, Rupani said the onus of celebrating the birth-anniversary is more on Gujarat as it is being birth-place of Gandhiji, and it would be attained through organizing various creative programmes.

He stated this while addressing the first meeting of the state level committee for the Celebration of 150th Birth-Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi held under his chairmanship at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Nitinbhai Patel, other ministers including Ganpatsinh Vasava, Ishwarbhai Parmar, Pradipsinh Jadeja, senior government officials, representatives of the NGOs following and working on Gandhian values and others.

Rupani further expressed the determination that during this celebration to make infrastructural development at the places which are connected with the life of Mahatma Gandhi, so, maximum people visit them. The state and central governments both are determined to celebrate it in grandeur styles.

The Chief Minister also urged to create an atmosphere, through the organizing various programmes, which can make relevance of Gandhian ideology in the present situation to attract the youths towards virtues of Gandhiji’s. For such programmes, the state government will offer all the possible encouragements and assistance to the institutions following the Gandhian ideology and virtues.
