September 19, 2018
Gandhinagar: The MLAs of main opposition congress today took out a cycle rally here to reach the Vidhansabha bhavan here on the second and last day of brief monsoon session to protest against the unabated rise in petrol and diesel prices.
LoP Paresh Dhanani, president Amit chavda, deputy leader Shailesh Parmar led the rally which started from MLA quarters here.
Chavda said that it was a symbolic protest against the rising prices of petroleum products.
Dhanani said that the BJP government was insensitive to the feelings and woes of common man.
During the rally the Congress MLAs were wearing placards around their necks with various anti government slogans with regard to price rise.
However, during the cycle rally many of the party MLAs were also seen walking on foot as reportedly adequate number of cycles could not be arranged.
BJP however rejected the rally as another political stunt of ‘desperate’ congress.
BJP MLA Bhupendra Patel said that despite some rise in petrol diesel prices, there was no rise in the prices of vital day to day items.
