Foundation stone laid for 44 km 6-lane conversion of Sarkhej – Gandhinagar – Chiloda highway

Ahmedabad: Foundation stone laying function for six lane conversion of 44- km Sarkhej – Gandhinagar – Chiloda highway NH – 147 took place today morning here. The project involves expenditure of Rs 867 crore. Central government assisted project involves works of six lane conversion of stretch which is presently four lane in width. The project also involves 7 meter wide aligned service road, construction of seven 6-lane flyovers at Infocity, Sargasan, Uvarsad, Vaishnodevi, Pakvan, Ujala circles, construction of Gujarat’s first 6-lane elevated corridor between Sola Bhagwat to Thaltej underpass which will be 4.18 km long and 7 – 8 lane conversion of two railway over bridges. Foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister Rupani in presence of Deputy Chief Minister, State ministers, Mayor among others. The function was held at Sola civil hospital campus.

There won’t be any toll tax on six lane SG highway – DyCM Nitin Patel

There won’t be any toll tax on the six-lane Sarkhej Gandhinagar Chiloda NH 147 (SG highway), foundation of which was laid by CM Vijay Rupani here today.

Deputy CM Nitin Patel informed that the conversion of four lane to six lane of the 44.042.km long section of NH 147 would be done at a cost of Rs 847 crore.

‘The union government has accepted the state government’s request to not to levy any toll tax on this all important road which would smoothen the flow of traffic between North Gujarat to Ahmedabad and further up to Saurashtra. No toll would be levied on it and the state government would pay an equivalent amount to the center instead of it,’ he said.
He said that there would be 7 meter wide service road on both sides of the six lane NH. There would be 7 fly overs, one elevated corridor, 1 vehicular underpass, 2 railway over bridge and 2 pedestrian underpass on the road.
