Rotten gram with insects found in Anganwadi center; Smriti Irani asks collector to probe and take strict action

Rajpipla: Union Textile Minister and Rajyasabha MP from Gujarat Smriti Irani today ordered probe in to the incident of finding rotten gram (Chana) with insects in it from an Anganwadi center in Narmada district.
She also ordered the district collector to get all other Anganwadis in the district checked to find out whether such items were being used anywhere else.
Irani was on trip to the Anganwadi in Koth village under Naswadi taluka of the district before which it came to the notice of media-persons that rotten gram with insects meant for preparation of food for children was kept in the center. They captured the video of it.
Later when Irani came there and the matter was brought to her notice, She thanked the media for it and ordered the collector present there to probe the matter and take strict action. She also instructed the collector to submit a report to her also.
Earlier she had participated in a God-Bharai ritual of a pregnant woman in the center.
