Amreli Congress leader sits on dharna at State party headquarters

Ahmedabad: In yet another embarrassment to opposition Congress, a senior party leader from the home district of leader of opposition Paresh Dhanani today sat on dharna in front of the party’s state headquarters in Paldi here alleging that Dhanani and two other MLAs of the party had helped BJP candidate in the election of the Savarkundala APMC.

Dipak Malani, who was till recently the taluka Congress president in Savarkundala, sat on dharna here.

Malani, also a Director of Gujcomasol had contested the APMC election of Savarkundala last month to defeat the panel of 3 time BJP MLA and party candidate Kalu Virani.

After that he had yesterday wrote a letter to the party state president alleging that Dhanani, also MLA from Amreli, his brother Sharad, Savarkundala MLA Pradip Dudhat and Lathi MLA Virji Thumar had all worked all-out to ensure his defeat and victory of Virani. But his panel win.

After that he sat on dharna here today. He told newsmen that he has no demand and just want to draw the attention of the party leaders towards the irregularities in the party in Amreli.
