ACB nabs Assistant Labour Commissioner red handed taking bribe in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat Police today here nabbed red handed an Assistant Labour Commissioner level officer and his broker taking a bribe of Rs 35000/- from the manager of a labour contract firm.
Assistant Director of the ACB D P Chudasama said that Assistant Labour Commissioner Sandip M Parmar had sought the bribe from a contractor contract firm for renewal of its labour contract. He had initially demanded Rs 45000/- but later agreed to brought it down to Rs 35000/-.
Based on a secret complaint the ACB laid a trap and nabbed Parmar from his office in the Deputy Labour Commissioner office in Khanpur area of the city while a private person identified as one Sumra Aslam was taking the bribe on his behalf.
