Youths cheered Gujarat Chief Mininster Narendra Modi when he visited several Garba grounds in western parts of Ahmedabad on late Monday night.
Modi visited YMCA, Karnavati Club and Rajpath Club dandiya grounds on a Sarkhej-Gandhinagar highway. He ended his Garba trail at SOI and Vibrant Navratri grounds.
Wherever Modi entered, Music continued but youths literally stopped playing Garba. Modi became centre of attraction for Lakhs of youths present in Garba grounds. Youths cheered Modi at every venue. Group of youths in YMCA could be heard shouting ‘We Love You Modi’, ‘You are proud of Gujarat’ ‘Long live Modi’. Same was the mood at Vibrant Navratri ground which was Modi’s last stoppage of Garba trail. Modi performed Goddess Amba’s Aarti at this venue. Minister of state for Home Amit Shah, local MLA Rakesh Shah, Tourism Corporation Chairman Kamlesh Patel, Reliance group president and Member of Parliament Parimal Nathwani, Gujarat Samachar’s Amam Shah etc. were present along with Modi when he performed Aarti ritual at midnight on Vibrant Navratri ground.
Thousands of youths tried best to rush towards Modi. Police had to work hard to maintain security. Youths trying to capture Modi in their mobile phone video camera were literally running after him and continuously cheering loudly.
In Karnavati Club Dandiya players presented Modi a turban. Modi talked with little girls dressed in Gujarati traditional. In a quick talk to the reporters Modi in an answer to the question about Nano said that It was Tata who had to decide on Nano. Modi avoided the questions on his completion of seven years rule in Gujarat.
It would be interesting to note that though Modi every year visits Garba grounds and organizes Grand Garba festivals through government and industries, image conscious he never himself performs even a single step of Garba or Dandiya on any ground. Since last many years Modi regularly observes fasts during Navratri in devotion to the Goddess Amba. He only consumes milk and fruits during Navratri.
When 7 years of his continuous rule in Gujarat completed on 6 October’s midnight, his new day at 12.00 AM started with Goddess Amba’s Aarti in his hands, ears, mouth and eyes.
