Ahmedabad to Host India vs Australia 5th Test of Border – Gavaskar Trophy
March 26, 2026
Ahmedabad: Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the fifth and final Test of the India–Australia series in February–March 2027, as part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy during Team India’s international home season 2026–27.
As per the schedule released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Test match will be played from February 27 to March 3, 2027, starting at 9:30 AM.
The five-match Test series against Australia will begin in Nagpur on January 21, 2027, and will then move to Chennai, Guwahati, Ranchi and Ahmedabad. The series is expected to be one of the highlights of the home season, given the intense rivalry between the two teams.
The Narendra Modi Stadium is considered one of the premier venues for all-format cricket in the country. Earlier, the venue hosted the 4th Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in March 2023, a match attended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to celebrate 75 years of friendship through cricket.
The BCCI said the 2026–27 home season will feature a packed calendar with matches across formats, with international games scheduled in 17 cities across India. DeshGujarat
