Gujarati Garba with Falguni Pathak in Ankleshwar this Navratri

After 16 long years of ruling the Mumbai’s Dandiya scene, famous Garba singer Falguni Pathak is this year in Gujarat’s Ankleshwar for all nine nights to rock the ground.

Falguni Pathak started her Dandiya career in 1993. In 2008, she was paid Rs 1 crore for performing at Sankalp, making her the highest paid Dandiya singer ever. She is often called the Dandiya queen. She shot to worldwide fame with successive hit music albums.

According to organiser of Falguni’s garba nights in Ankleshwar Shri Dilip Bhuva, “This year, Gujarat has completed 50 years of its formation and the state’s Chief Minister Narendra Modi decided to celebrate it in the form of a Gujarat Festival. Falguni is originally from Ahmedabad, so she wanted to be a part of the celebration.”

Bhuva owns Kala Sangam, which has been organising Falguni’s performances in Mumbai over the years.

There are about 12 Bollywood stars scheduled to perform, along with TV personalities and actors from Gujarati cinema at Ankleshwar venue. Bollywood stars who have been finalized at this juncture include Anil Kapoor, Suniel Shetty, Tanushree Dutta, Chunkey Panday, Gulshan Grover and Sayali Bhagat, reveals Bhuva. On the first day actress Prachi Desai graced the venue with her presence.
