Modi flies kites in Maninagar,string cuts throat of one in Naroda

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today was see on the top of residential buildings of Maninagar area in Ahmedabad flying kites.
Dressed in striped black and white t-shirt, goggles and English cap, Mr. Modi was flying kite, while Gujarat Tourism Corporation’s Chairman Kamlesh Patel was holding string tool.
Maninagar is Modi’s constituency area from where he is elected. Modi every year visits several houses of Maninagar to fly kites in the morning.
Speaking to media persons Shri Modi said: “Yesterday, I had pleasure to spend my day with big wigs of Indian and international industry, and today I have come to celebrate Uttarayan with common men, and I am here with the people from backward class, enjoying Uttarayan. This Uttarayan brings more happiness because, Gujarat was fortunate enough to host the biggest business summit in last two days, and therefore our kite of development is flying high in the sky and we would wish it touches more and more heights.”
The foreign kitists and dignities from abroad however choose Khadia area for flying kites. Late Gujarat Assembly Speaker Ashok Bhatt’s house in Khadia’s Kameshwar ni pol is considered as capital of Ahmedabad’s Uttarayan. All festivities of Uttarayan in Ahmedabad are centred around this house traditionally. However after sad demise of late Shri Ashok Bhatt, the fun is not as good as it was before.
Meanwhile while youths are enjoying kite flying, the volunteers are busy in rescuing birds hit by string. In Ahmedabad’s Naroda area, one youth was injured by kite string. The youth has been hospitalized. It should be mentioned that yesterday in East Gujarat’ Dahod town one youth died due to injury from kite string.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has erected bamboo polls and channel wire at all over bridges to safeguard commuters from injury caused by string.
