ABG to build Rs 970 crore Navy ships at Dahej yard

Gujarat based ABG Shipyard Ltd has bagged a Rs 970 crore order from the Indian Navy to build two cadet training ships that will have the capability of carry a light helicopter.
These ships meant to provide basic training to the naval cadets and trainees will be built at its ship-building yard in Dahej, Surat, the Bombay Stock Exchange was informed on Tuesday.
With this order the total order book of the company stands at approximately Rs 14,890 crore.
These vessels which will be approximately 110 meters in length, can attain a maximum speed of 20 knots. It will also be able to carry out disaster relief, search and rescue operations.
The cadets joining the Navy will have advanced surveillance system in the near future.
