BJP MPs meet Civil Aviation minister for more flights to Surat
Surat, 11 August, 2011
BJP MPs from Gujarat led by Rajya Sabha MP Purushottam Rupala met central Civil Aviation minister Vyalar Ravi to demand better air connectivity in Surat. However the delegation of BJP MPs could not get any concrete assurance on this issue and returned.
MPs C.R.Patil, Darshna Jardosh, Kanji Patel, Balubhai Shukla, Punamben Jat, Natubhai Thakor and others told central minister that the city of Surat with 4.5 million population can not be denied good air connectivity. Mumbai-Surat-Delhi flight in morning and Delhi-Surat-Mumbai flight in the evening need to be started. The delegation also demanded to decrease existing air fare between Surat and Delhi.
