Showers continue,40 dams cross 90% level, Narmada dam 94% filled

With great amount of rains this week(still continuing), water level at Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam is now at 120.24 metres against its crest level of 121.92 metres. This means the dam was filled up to 94% of its total storage capacity according to officials.
According to state Irrigation department official 40 dams including major dams like Wanakbori in central Gujarat, Bhadar in Rajkot and Brahmani in Surendranagar district have crossed 90% of their total storage capacity and high alert has been sounded in the downstream areas of these dams for any emergency since rain in the state is still continuing.
