Amitabh Bachchan arrives for statewide second phase shooting of Gujarat Tourism ads

Bollywood megastar legendary Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan today arrived at Gujarat’s Mundra airport from Mumbai to shoot for second phase of ‘Khushbu Gujarat Ki’ ad campaign of Gujarat Tourism.

Amitabh’s plane landed at Adani’s Mundra port at 2.00 pm. Bachchan wished to visit Mundra port and started his this Gujarat visit with that.

According to sources in Gujarat Tourism, Shri Bachchan will be in Kutch for two-day long shooting that would cover kite flying in white rann, tent city at Dhordo and Kutchi handicraft of artists in Dhamadka and Dudhai villages.

Gujarat Tourism organized Kutch rann utsav every year in December with Dhordo tent city next to white rann of Kutch as central location. For last two years, Gujarat Tourism also organizers part of international kite festival in white rann. Amitabh’s ad shoot in white rann will feature Amitabh Bachchan as anchor and some Indian kite fliers flying kites on white rann surface.

From Kutch, Amitabh will move to Junagadh, possibly via Jamnagar airport. Shri Bachchan will shoot for promotion of Junagadh and Buddhist circuit. Junagadh has a wonderful medieval fort called Upar kot. Junagadh has also a great tourism attraction of mount Girnar. The city has Ashoka’s writing on stone, and caves of Baba Pyare and Khapro Khodio. It is yet not final whether Shri Bachchan would visit Somnath or not in the course of his two-day Junagadh visit.

From southern Saurasthra, Amitabh will then travel to north Gujarat. The places that are going to witness Amitabh Bachchan’s Gujarat Tourism ad shoot are Ambaji, Patan, Siddhpur, Vadnagar and Modhera.

In Ambaji, Bachchan will shoot for Navratri ad of Gujarat Tourism. The govt of Gujarat is working on an ambitious project of making Ambaji temple a golden temple. Massive activities are also going on at Gabbar hill site where Gujarat Tourism is building 51 Shakti piths, parikrama route and other attractions. Amitabh Bachchan will promote Gabbar site too.

Shri Bachchan will promote Bindu Sarovar in Siddhpur where annual camel fair and Bohra havelis are other attractions for tourists. He will visit Patan where shooting will be held at international tourist attraction Ranki vaav. In Modhera, Shri Bachchan will shoot to promote a Sun temple. In Vadnagar his shooting will take place at Kirti toran.

Shri Bachchan’s last destination in Gujarat in this phase will be Saputara, the only hill station of Gujarat at present.

According to sources in Gujarat Tourism, Shri Bachchan will just pass through the city of Ahmedabad, and there’s no shoot in Ahmedabad itself in his phase-2 schedule of Khushbu Gujarat Ki campaign.

Amitabh was proposed to become a brand ambassador of Gujarat Tourism by Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi when Bachchan organized a show of his film Paa for Modi in a multiplex near Gandhinagar. Over a dinner, Shri Modi requested Shri Bachchan to become a brand ambassador of Gujarat, to which Shri Bachchan agreed. Shri Bachchan showed readiness to work for free.

Shri Bachchan’s earlier ads have rewarded Gujarat Tourism very well in terms of growing number of tourists, and more income to those involved in tourism industry.
