Veteran actor of Gujarati film and theater world Shri Upendra Trivedi will be awarded D Lit (Honoris-causa) degrees by the Shri Hemachandracharya North Gujarat University in Patan on 27th of this month. A court meeting of university today took this decision.

When contacted the university registrar Dr. DM Patel said that various educational institutes of north Gujarat, associated with the university had recommended Shri Upendra Trivedi’s name for honorary doctorate. Such recommendations were put before the academic council first and latter in executive council. After approved by both the councils, a proposal was put before the court meeting of university where today it has been approved unopposed. Now the proposal will be forwarded to state Governor for final approval.

Shri Patel said that on 27th of this month, Shri Trivedi will be awarded D Lit by Gujarat Governor during University’s gold medal distribution function.

Shri Patel added that this is for the first time that the university has awarded someone D Lit.
