It is now clear that former Gujarat Chief Minister and dissident BJP leader Keshubhai Patel will form third political front in Gujarat. The announcement of the third front will made in July end or in the first week of August.
MahaGujarat Janata Party leader Gordhan Zadafia today said, “Since a long time, people wanted something new in Gujarat. Today we have laid foundation for that. In entire month of July there will be gatherings organized under leadership of Keshubhai in all major cities to lay foundation for third alternative. Trusted and proven leader Keshubhai will appeal the people disappointed with BJP and Congress to come and join the third alternative. All sammelans are part of the third front movement in the state.”
“While some gatherings will be organized in open ground, some will be held inside the auditoriums due to monsoon,” Gordhanbhai added.
“In the end of July, or in first week of August, we will declare a huge gathering in which third alternate will be declared by Keshubhai. It can be MahaGujarat Janata Party, or a new arrangement, but it will be rooted arrangement for rural, poor, farmers, tribal, youths, women of Gujarat. It will be Gujarat’s own party, Gujarat’s own arrangement, and we will give it to the people of Gujarat by first week of August. We are not in mood to step back now, and there’s no question about it,” he further added.
Zadafia said that eight sammelans will geographically cover the entire state. In each sammelan, people from nearby area will be invited. He said the dates of gatherings will be announced in a week or so. He said the final programme will involve booth level persons.
Zadafia said that he will work under Keshubhai’s leadership, either in MJP or in any other arrangement. He said the July programmes will be open for all, and will not be held under MahaGujarat Janata Party’s banner.
Both Zadafia and Suresh Mehta clearly said that decision has been taken to form the third front in Gujarat, but formal announcement will be made by August first week.
