People on roads against arrest of popular cop Tarun Barot by CBI

People are on the roads in Ahmedabad against popular, brave and honest cop Tarun Barot’s arrest in Sadiq Jamal encounter case.
Barot who was Police Inspector in 2003 when Sadiq Jamal enounter took place was arrested yesterday by CBI. Barot was asked to come to CBI office for questioning, and as soon as he reached there he was arrested. Barot is presently DySP in Mehsana.
Ahmedabad’s Bapunagar and Saraspur areas are observing bandh today against Barot’s arrest. The markets are closed since the morning.
Bapunagar/Saraspur is the area where Tarun Barot lives. As soon as the news of Tarun Barot’s arrest appeared on TV, the people of Bapunagar and Saraspur were on roads yesterday evening.
Today morning, the locals gathered outside Tarun Barot’s house in Annapurna cooperative housing society in Bapunagar and shouted slogans. They also protested Barot’s arrest with banners in hand.
Bapunagar’s diamond market and other markets were closed protesting Barot’s arrest.
BJP MLA Vallabhbhai Kakadia said that Barot is a brave police officer. He has contributed lot to save the Ahmedabad-east area from criminals and gundas.
Tarun Barot’s father Amratbhai Barot said that whatever his son did, he did it for the nation, he did it as a part of his duty to the nation.
Shri Amratbhai said that this is political stunt. He said his one son is in trouble today, but he can sacrifice much more for the nation. Amratbhai was requested by the locals to enter politics to fight his son’s cause.
