Radadia brandishing a weapon
Ahmedabad, 18 October 2012
Porbandar Congress MP today wrote a letter to All India Congress Committee President Sonia Gandhi clarifying his position in Karjna toll booth weapon brandishing case.
As DeshGujarat reported earlier, Radadia was likely to pick up by party’s central leadership for union cabinet berth ahead of the Gujarat assembly elections, but the weapon brandishing case harmed him so much that he has missed the opportunity. Radadia’s letter to Sonia Gandhi is viewed in this connection.
In his letter Radadia alleged that the toll booth CCTV footage supplied to media was edited one. Radadia has reportedly told the party president that he was provoked by toll booth operators, and those visuals are absent in video footage. Radadia claimed again that he had to come out from the car with his weapon (for which he has license) only for his self defense.
However the toll booth operators have denied any editing in CCTV footage. They said that even Forensic Science Laboratory had checked the footage which was complete recording of the event.
It should be mentioned that Radadia’s anticipatory bail plea has been rejected by the Sessions court in Vadodara. He is likely to challenge the lower court decision in the Gujarat High Court, or he may surrender before police.
For Radadia, one more criminal case is not big problem, but central leadership’s red eyes certainly is. While Radadia is MP from Porbandar, his son is MLA.
