Another route of Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) has been opened today in Ahmedabad. This route covers a wall city road connecting Tilak Bag(the eastern end of Ellis bridge) Kalupur Railway station(the main railway station in Ahmedabad) and Delhi Darwaja.
The bus service has been made free for a week.
The route is not connected to western part of Amdavad at present. It is a short 5.5 km long stretch disconnected at both ends.
BRTS buses will operate between Kalupur railway station and Delhi Darwaja and Sarangpur and Kalupur railway station in mix traffic. Means there will not be a dedicated BRTS route on this particular stretch due to objections of Archaeological Survey of India.
Buses will be available on this route at every 15th minute starting from 6.00 am.
All these stations have been designed on heritage theme, with wooden top, chabutara(bird feeding tower) and photos of city’s heritage sites.
The route at glance
