Anjar police has arrested one Kishor Hasabhai Sathwara for sending “provocative” message against Islam on Whatsapp.
One Muslim youth Umar Abdul Rayma from Anjar taluka’s Budharmera village had filed police complaint against three persons for sending message on whatsapp “defaming” Islam.
Police found that one Sachin Devji Sathwara, originally from Budharmora but settled in Mumbai had sent the message to Umar Abdul. When Umar spoke to Sachin’s uncle, it was revealed that Sachin received the message from Budharmora based Kishor Sathwara.
Police arrested Kishor and sought his remand. The court on Friday approved one-day remand. Kishor told police that one Dipak Chavda sent him the message. Police is now investigating about Dipak Chavda and his background.
As soon as the incident came to light, one hardly known organization Akhil Kutch Sunni Muslim Hitrakshan Samiti suefaced and submitted a memorandum at district collector office seeking PASA against the accused. The Hitrakshak Samiti delegation was led by its president Haji Yusufsha Sheikh and General Secretary Haji Jumma Rayma. Both Sheikh and Rayma said that Islam can not forgive such act of sending SMS in such language. If accused are not punished stringently, the Muslim community will stage dharna and start agitation.
