Ahmedabad, 10 October 2013
Finally it was Wednesday night when garbas in Ahmedabad were safe and there was no rainfall during or before the garba. Vibrant Gujarat Navratri event also resumed after two days halt on Wednesday. City’s YMCA club on SG highway attracted highest number of garba goers thanks to some star value added to the event, with actress Dipeeka Padukone’s presence at the venue to promote her forthcoming film Ram Leela. Dipeeka however stuck in faulty lift for 15 minutes at YMCA club building.
Navratri however was spoiled by rain in some other cities of Gujarat.
At Jamnagar, most of the Garbi events had to be canceled due to rain. Similarly in Bhavnagar, the professional Navratri organizers had to cancel their events due to heavy rain. Another city to be hit by rainfall was Surat where major garba events on open grounds had to be fully or partially canceled.
