Dinsha tried to be oversmart by correcting Modi, but records show Modi only was right

Ahmedabad, 29 October 2013
Today in his speech Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi praised Sardar Patel for moving a motion in Amdavad Municipality for women’s reservation in year 1919. Shri Modi praised Sardar Patel’s vision and forsight by giving this example.
Then there was a turn of Union Minister Dinsha Patel to speak. Dinsha is Gujarat MP who heads Sardar Patel national memorial trust. Dinsha said he would like to correct Narendra Modi. As soon as he said this, a section of Congress workers present in the function started shouting with cheer. Dinsha corrected Modi and said that yes Sardar had proposed women’s reservation but not in 1919. It was actually 1926.
To know the fact, we at DeshGujarat checked the things further. According to a book written by Ahmedabad based researcher, professor Dr. Rizwan Kadri who has done his PhD on Sardar Patel’s life and work in Ahmedabad, Sardar Patel moved motion reffered above in 1919 only, and Modi was right.
Presented here is a copy of the page from original municipal records belonging to year 1919. It clearly shows that Sardar had moved a motion in 1919 and it was passed at the same time.
If you fail to understand the details of the motion with just this piece of paper, you can also read what Indulal Yagnik wrote in this connection. It throws further light.
It seems, Dinsha tried to be oversmart without studying the details. Modi was correct.
