GSPC gets authorization for gas supply to Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka districts

Gujarat govt run Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation(GSPC) gas company has been authorized for setting up a network of gas pipeline in Jamnagar and newly formed Devbhoomi Dwarka districts.

Sharing the details of this development, minister Saurabh Patel said that New Delhi based Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board(PNGRB) had recently held competitive bidding process, through which the Gujarat govt company GSPC has received this authorization.

As per the authorization, GSPC has planned gas supply to door steps through pipeline network.

Jamnagar city, Hapa, Dared, Jodiya, Balambha, Amran, Hadiyala, Dhrol, Latipur, Kalavad, Kharedi, Lalpur, Jamjodhpur, Gingani, Sidsar, Bhanvad, Ghumli, Khambhalia, Harshadpur, Salaya, Shaktinagar, Dharampur, Kalyanpur, Bhatiya, Gadhka, Lamba, Rawal, Raan, Nandana, Devaliya, Bhogat, Okha, Drawka, Gadhechi, Samlasar, Positra, Varvala, Suraj Karadi, Mithapur, Okhamadhi are places that are to be covered under proposed network.

Minister said, GSPC will invest Rs. 800 crore in next 5 years covering 10,600 sq.km area under gas pipeline network and 3,70,00 home consumers, commercial units, small and mediam level industries and CNG vehicles(through CNG stations).

He said the state government supplies gas to home users in Umargam in south Gujarat through pipeline. Three CGD companies, GSPC gas, Sabarmati gas and Gujarat gas that function under GSPC supply gas to 9 lakh houses in 15 districts through pipeline. Two coastal districts Jamnagar and Devbhoomi Dwarka will be added to this network.
