In her brief talk to media persons, Chief Electoral Officer(CEO) of Gujarat Mrs. Anita Karwal said around one lakh police and non-police staff had been trained in the state ahead of the Lok Sabha general elections.
She said, over 79,000 posters and hoardings were removed following implementation of the model code of conduct in the state.
The election commission has received 18 complaints in Gujarat regarding violation of model code of conduct so far. FIRs are filed in two cases. One of them involves Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal (in Gandhidham) while the other complaint involves BJP workers (in Jetpur).
Karwal said complaint was received against Baba Ramdev’s Yoga Shibir in Navsari. District officer’s report is awaited in this regard, she added.
