Gujarat HC stays arrest of Teesta,Javed,Tanvir,others till 4 April

The Gujarat High Court has given stay against arrests of Controversial NGO operator Teesta Setalvad, her husband Javed Anand and son of slain Congress MP Ehsan Jafri, Tanvir till April 4th. The court has issued notice to Crime Branch of Ahmedabad Police. Next hearing has been scheduled on 4 April in this case.
Teesta Setalvad, her husband Javed Anand and son of slain Congress MP Ehsan Jafri, Tanvir yesterday approached the Gujarat High Court seeking anticipatory bail in Gulbarg Society fund embezzlement case.The move came after the Ahmedabad city and sessions court denied the same relief to Setalvad, Anand, Jafri and two residents of Gulbarg society on March 25 observing there are prima facie documentary evidence against the accused, which needs a thorough probe.
