Thackerays in action, Sanjay Raut’s powers stripped

Ahmedabad, 6 May, 2014
It’s too late, and not enough, but still Thackerays, deserve congratulations for taking some actions in connection with Sanjay Raut.
Sanjay Raut is editor of Shiv Sena run newspaper Saamna. On foundation day of Gujarat and Maharashtra early this month, Sanjay Raut penned down and published an edit piece in Saamna targeting Gujarati people in Mumbai.
Following outrage over this piece, Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aditya Thackeray issued clarification. Aditya issued clarification twice on twitter. His second clarification also found space in Saamna itself.
In reaction to Adity’a tweet clarifying his stand, many well wishers of Shiv Sena(and DeshGujarat too) pointed out that Shiv Sena needs to fix Sanjay Raut for causing damage to Shiv Sena through frequent anti-BJP, anti-Modi and anti-Gujarati edits.
While there’s no doubt that Sanjay Raut writes well, it is felt that he sometime goes out of control. To fix this issue, Aditya Thackeray has taken some action and asked Subhash Desai and Leeladhar Dake to moniter political stance of Shiv Sena in Saamna. Sanjay Raut will continue to do his job as editor, and will write editorial too, but political stance in his pieces will be monitored. Thus his powers are stripped.
