On Narendra Modi’s interview to Arnab Goswami of Times Now(video)

If you are Modi fan, you can stay assured, he will never let you down.
Times Now’s Arnab Goswami is considered tougher interviewer, and Modi’s well wishers had some uneasy feeling when they heard about Modi’s interview with Arnab Goswami. Then the interview session was on air tonight, and at the end of the interview Modi once again proved why he is the best choice to lead the nation.
The interview itself should be watched, and readers should not rely on its description in text or its analysis. But here are some interesting glimpses of the interview.
-Modi said Hinduism is way of life and not a religion. He said this quoting a Supreme Court’s observation.
-Modi countered Arnab’s claim that Mayaben Kodnani was made minister by Modi even when she was charged. ‘I believed you study well, but you should at least do some research,’ Modi told Arnab on this occassion. Modi said Mayaben has right to fight her case in higher courts.
-When he was asked whether under his leadership export of terror from Pakistan, and talks between India and Pakistan both will continue simultaneously, Modi replied: Can we hear/talk when bomb blasts and gun shots are taking place ?
-Modi said he is not able to watch his interviews on TV these days. He said this in reference to recent Doordarshan interview and controversy around it.
-Arnab asked why Adani was given land for cheaper rates compared to Tata Motors and Ford. Modi replied Adani’s plant location is in marshy, desert land of Kutch while Tata and Ford Motors are located near Ahmedabad therefore there’s difference in land allocation rates. Arnab pointed out that Ford and Tata plants are at Sanand(not Ahmedabad). To this Modi clarified that Sanand is located just 20-40 km away from Ahmedabad. Modi asked Arnab to show presentation of Gujarat government on land allocation on his channel. Arnab gave idea of debate between union minister Anand Sharma and Gujarat Minister Saurabh Patel. Modi asked him to go ahead. Modi said Times Now should also show at what rate Adani has been given land in other states. Modi said the state has prescribed policy, and Adani or Wadra anyone can take benefit of provisions in that policy. Modi asked Arnab to show a case where policy itself was violated while allocating the land. Modi mentioned how union government’s report has admired Gujarat government’s land allocation policy this week itself.
-Modi refused to give reply on alleged snooping issue as it is pending in the Supreme Court. When Arnan Goswami repeated the question again and again in different flavors, Modi warned Arnab and reminded him supremacy of Supreme Court.
-On the issue of riots, Modi asked Arnab to prepare a report on all riots and compare the figures of convictions, FIRs and level of progress of cases.
-When asked about statements of communal overtones by Amit Shah and Giriraj Singh, Modi pointed out that such statements were discontinued through party’s internal mechanism. Modi hinted he can be tough on such issues.
-Modi said his team does all the tasks in Gujarat, and he has nothing to do. Modi said he had to spend some days while setting up the Vibrant Gujarat summit or Krishi Mahotsav, but the latest versions of these drives are managed by the team on their own, and he is just invited to functions.
-Modi said Kolkata could play major role in development and prosperity of entire East India, but left and later Mamata didn’t do the job properly. Modi said, for development of East India, cities like Ranchi, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata are to be developed.
-Modi said he endorses none of the books published about him. He said in last few days 150 books are published on his life and works, but he approves none of them all.
-In reference to his latest attacks on Mamata Banerjee during West Bengal campaign, when Modi was asked shouldn’t he keep a door open for Mamata’s party for post poll coalition. Modi said, door can be kept open this way also. Arnab didn’t understand the answer and asked Modi to explain. Modi in reply asked Arnab to wait for 12th of May when elections will be over.
