Surat BRTS phase – 2: Removal of over 350 slum units on

Over 350 slum units are being removed by Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) in city’s Limbayat Zone’s Bhathena locality to make a way for Bus Rapid Transit System(BRTS) project – phase 2. As many as 75 slum units were removed on first day of drive which is likely to continue for three-four more days. About 200 employees of SMC are involved in this task. Slum dwellers are shifted to Economically Weak Section(EWS) housing scheme in Bhestan. The SMC on first day opened 3,000 square ft area.
