Toilet in every home in Surat by March 2015

Those who don’t have toilet facility at home are advised to contact the zone office of Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) so that SMC can provide the facility.
The SMC has set target to ensure toilet in every home by March 2015. As per the census 2011, there were 5785 people who were found without toilet facility in Surat city area.
Following the Chief Minister’s instruction all those are to be provided toilet facility. The state government has appointed 200 agencies to complete the target of toilet-in-every-home. In every zone, 40-50 agencies will be on job to complete the target. The SMC has completed survey of 4,317 homes in this connection.
