Teesta’s relief extended, Babu Bajrangi gets bail

Further hearing on Teesta Setlvad’s anticipatory bail plea in Gujarat High Court will be held on 26 August, as lawyer representing Teesta, her husband and other accused sought more time to file reply. Stay against Teesta’s arrest has been extended till 26 August in Gulberg society fund embezzlement case.
In another development, Naroda Patiya communal riot case culprit Babu Bajrangi has been granted temporary bail from 9-16 August for eyes treatment. Bajrangi will be out of Sabarmati jail during this period.
In one more court related news, the Metro court in Ahmedabad today rejected a plea seeking CBI probe in Dipesh-Abhishek accidental case. The petition was filed by Dipesh’s parents. Both Dipesh and Abhishek were students of Asaram Ashram run school and they were staying at a hostel which is part of Asaram ashram. They were first missing and later their dead bodies were found in river bed.
Narendra Modi had shown his party symbol Lotus after casting his vote in last Lok Sabha elections in Ahmedabad. A case was filed against him in this connection. The Ahmedabad Police Crime Branch today sought more time to file its probe report in court in this case. Next hearing will be held on 26th therefore.
IPS Girish Singhal, an accused in the 2004 Ishrat Jahan fake encounter killing case, today approached a special CBI court here seeking modification in his bail condition.Special CBI court judge Geeta Gopi issued a notice in this regard to CBI and posted the hearing in the matter on August 14. Singhal submitted in his plea that the condition of bail which restricts him to remain in Gujarat should be reconsidered. He has further prayed in his application that he should get back his articles like cell-phone and a tab which were seized by CBI when he was arrested last year in the case relating to the killing of a Mumbai-based college student Ishrat Jahan and three others in an alleged fake encounter.
