Reacting to the Gujarat Congress’s press statement alleging misrepresentation of Indian map in MoU doccuments of Gujarat government signed with China, the state government has issued a brief clarification, full text of which is following:
MoU between Government of Gujarat and Guangdong Province of China.
The map is showing the location of Guangdong Province and Guangzhou City in China. It was neither signed by any Government of Gujarat officials nor endorsed by Government of Gujarat. The map shows the location and the other data such as geographical area, population, per capita, etc. The map was not part of the MoU signed.

Gujarat Congress had in a press statement claimed:
In presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi 3 MOU have been singed by Government of Gujarat, with China’s Gaundang province as “Sister State” on 17th September, 2014 in hotel Hayat. The state government held press conference same day at GMDC Hall by additional chief secretary D J Pandian & distributed hand out showing map of gaundong province. In this particular map government of guajrat have shown the China-India border showing Arunachal Pradesh as disputed territories in dotted line. In google map too, this Arunachal Pradesh has been shown in “red colour” as disputed territory. China is claiming Arunachal Pradesh as there territory.
In MOU too this particular map (showing Arunachal Pradesh as disputes territory) has been shown.
Narendra Modi during his election campaign in Arunachal Pradesh made rhetoric speech and promised that “Mai Bharat ko Zukane Nahi Dunga, Bharat ki 1 inch Jamin bhi nahi dunga”. In this MOU, Arunachal Pradesh have been shown as disputed territory. PM should apologise for this major lapse & blunder.
