Slum-free Surat project: 266 more slum units removed

Ensuring another success in slum-free Surat project, the Surat Municipal Corporation on Wednesday and Thursday removed 166 slum units. With this the SMC has removed encroachment of 266 slum units from Shaktivijay society on Nanavarachha canal road. Total 40,000 sq ft area was reopened and recovered. The procedure was completed under police protection. Process of allotment of BSUP housing to affected families was simultaneously carried out through draw system.
