US firm to set up Rs. 4,000 crore industrial unit near Dahej in Gujarat

An Indian Express report quoting sources in government of Gujarat states that Memphis(America) based paper, packaging and distributing company – International Paper – will invest Rs. 4,000 crore near Dahej in Bharuch district of central Gujarat to set up a manufacturing unit for “multi-layered paper boards.” The company that started its India operation in year 2001 by acquiring 75% share holding in International Paper APPM Limited, formerly known as The Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills Limited, has two manufacturing units in Andhra Pradesh at present. Company’s has sought 50 ha land at a 1500 ha new industrial estate being set up at Saykha near Dahej by Gujarat government arm Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation(GIDC).
