Giving helmet free with two-wheeler is mandatory: RTO reminds dealers

Surat RTO Deputy Commissioner BM Prajapati held a meeting with around 20 two-wheeler sellers and asked them to comply with Central Motor Vehicle Act 1989 clause 138 which makes it mandatory to provide free helmet to one who purchases two wheeler.
RTO Prajapati said that two-wheeler dealers will need to have receipt of helmet when they sell a vehicle. If complain is received in this regard, dealer will face action.
He said RTO is going to celebrate safety awareness fortnight from 6 November.
