“You can invest in Gujarat, and sleep in Mumbai, you can dream in Mumbai while sleeping, and your dreams will be realized in Gujarat,” Gujarat Chief Secretary DJ Pandian said while addressing a road show in Mumbai today, ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015.

Pandian said those living in Mumbai can have breakfast in Mumbai, lunch in Gujarat and have good sleep on own bed in Mumbai.

He said Mumbai and Ahmedabad are connected through 12 flights a day. Moreover the bullet train and high-speed trains are coming up in future. There’s excellent connectivity between two.

He said, “if you invest in Gujarat, you don’t need to stay there. You can invest in Gujarat and sleep in Mumbai, that is because there are no labour, electricity, infrastructure related problems. You will enjoy continuous production and your investment will be safe. Banks are here(in Mumbai), but production houses are there(in Gujarat).”

Pandian specifically asked for investment in steel, automobile, textile, chemical and pharma as sectors.

Sharing an example, Pandian said, “this hotel is owned by Tatas, and yesterday they told me that they have 4,00 MW power plant in Gujarat but they are not getting remunerative price. I told them that instead of having a steel plant Chorus abroad, they can come to Gujarat and utilize power for production of steel, so that they can get power at Rs. 3 instead of Rs. 5.

Pandian described Gujarat Chief Minister as a dynamic lady who spends 16 hours a day. He said, “We have a dynamic Chief Minister. She spends 16 hours a day working so hard even at this age, listening to people, clearing file, attending presentations and take fast decisions. She has given Gatishil Gujarat which lives up to its promises.”

Pandian also admired Finance Minister Saurabh Patel and said, “We have a Finance Minister who has proved to the nation that Gujarat is the only state where you get power at any point of time. He has ensured not just sufficient power but surplus power.”
