GoI to set up National Marine Police Training Institute at Pindara in Gujarat

The central government has said that it has finalized a location of Pindara village in Devbhoomi Dwarka district of Gujarat for the proposed marine police training institute.
In reply to question asked by BJP MP Mansukh Mandaviya in Rajya Sabha, Minister of state for Home Affairs Kiren Rijju said: The Government has decided to set up two marine Police Training Institutes, one each on the eastern and the western coasts of India. The main reason behind setting up of Marine Police Training Institutes is to impart training to the Marine Police personnel of all the Coastal States/Union Territories. On the Western coast, it has been finalized to locate the proposed Institute at Pindara village in Devbhoomi Dwark district of Gujarat State.The Government has already initiated necessary steps in this regard.
