Here is an alert if you are planning to travel between Ahmedabad and Surat this week.

Due to maintenance of Vishwamitri bridge near Vadodara on national highway number 8, heavy traffic jam situation has been witnessed for last three days. Maintenance work is still going on, and it may continue for next few days in 1.5 km stretch.

The bridge is located near Dena village, and repair work has started since 24 December. Though diversion has been given on right side, traffic situation has been terrible.

Traffic ACP SV Parmar has appealed small vehicles on Ahmedabad-Surat route to enter Vadodara city from Dumad chowkdi and use Golden chowkdi bridge or a bridge next to it to reach the national highway. Similarly, small vehicles and four wheelers on Surat-Ahmedabad route are appealed to use Jambuva bridge, Golden chowkdi bridge or any other bridge nearby.
