Cleared 25 development plans in 15 days: Maharashtra CM

Moving forward with his agenda of development, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said his government cleared 25 pending proposals within 15 days of assuming power and maintained that farm sector is going through a difficult phase.
Fadnavis, who assumed charge in October-end, asserted that the BJP-Shiv Sena administration is committed to welfare of farmers and is working towards making 5,000 villages drought-free in the next one year.
“A huge population of the state resides in cities. As the number of inhabitants grow, various questions arise. When the state clears development proposals on time, the question of unauthorised constructions does not arise,” he said while speaking to a regional news channel here.
“Twenty-five development proposals were pending at the state level when we came to power. We studied all of them and cleared these proposals within 15 days of coming to power.
“Now there are just two proposals, one for Pune and the other for Thane, that remain pending. We will be clearing Thane’s proposal very soon. As far as Pune is concerned, we still have to study the proposal, but the clearance will happen soon,” he said.
Fadnavis said the state will work towards sustainable farming using irrigation facilities.
“Farming is going through a difficult phase right now.
Therefore, the government is pushing for sustainable farming.
This will be done through our ‘Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan’ where various smaller schemes will be linked together in order to deal with water problems. We will ensure that we make 5,000 villages drought-free in the next one year.”
Tapping technology, the government is working out ways to provide online all facilities it offers to people, he said.
“Taking cues from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India programme, we will start a Digital Maharashtra programme where all services of the state government will be provided online. We will very soon announce the date of commencement of this programme,” he said.
